Be friendly on Public Transport
You're probably sitting there thinking, "we can't talk to people on public transport because..."Stranger Danger!!!" Well behind that rather catchy phrase is a concept that doesn't really make much sense. Sure it's not wise to go around talking to the creepiest people you can find, but wouldn't it be quite nice if the vast majority of us (who aren't rapists, stalkers and serial killers) could actually create some sort of friendly atmosphere?
In the morning, when everybody is tired and slightly depressed, the simplest of things can cheer them up. Whether it be somebody holding the door for you, the train being on time, or just a simple hello. This all sounds so clichéd and a bit ridiculous, but surely a simple conversation isn't going to do any harm?
Whenever you are on public transport, just take a second to look around. I'm pretty sure you will find the vast majority of people buried in a phone or tablet, ignoring the world around them, but is that really the type of atmosphere we want? Slowly, we are all cutting ourselves off from the world whilst actively trying to be more sociable (using phones and tablets etc). Quite ironic eh?
To quickly wrap things up, I really don't think it would hurt if we were all just a bit more friendly. Simple as that.
